Leila

Leila is a proud GO student at the Berkeley Carroll campus. She first heard about GO through her cousin’s school, and her aunt signed up Leila, her siblings, and cousins for the program.

Since then, GO has made a big impact on her life. When she started, Leila loved learning, but math was tough. Multiplication and division took extra practice to feel confident. At GO, teachers have more time to work with each student. They’re patient, encouraging, and focus on where you need the most help. Because of their support, Leila feels more confident than ever in math.

But GO isn’t just about academics. It helps students grow as people. From day one, Leila felt welcomed and supported by the adults. GO makes sure everyone feels like they belong, and that students have fun while learning.

Leila has always been good at expressing herself, but joining debate helped her learn to do research and use her voice in powerful ways. In the future, she sees herself becoming a lawyer; someone who solves problems and makes a difference.

Best of all, she’s not learning alone! Her siblings, cousins, and the entire Berkeley Carroll campus grow together as a community.

Our partnerships help us strengthen schools, families, and communities.

At the GO Project, we are always open to exploring collaborations with schools, higher education institutions, and other nonprofits that strengthen NYC’s public schools, families, and communities.
