Chrissa joined GO when she was in the first grade and looking to get some extra help outside of school, especially with reading, and her elementary school connected her to the GO Project. From the beginning, teachers at GO Project helped her feel comfortable and safe. They broke down everything she was learning in school so it was easier to understand and would always check in with her and make sure she felt supported. She learned skills to help her feel calm and confident as she was learning new things.

During summer, GO’s programming helped her feel prepared to enter the next grade. They also had so many fun summer trips that helped students bond with each other and make learning fun.

GO also helped Chrissa beyond academics. She was shy and felt nervous meeting new people. Now she’s more comfortable speaking up in class, being social, and making new friends.

She attends NEST, a gifted and talented school with a focus on science, technology and math and taking advanced classes.
